Education and Training

Welcome to the Education and Training Core (ETC) for CREATE.

The ETC is the entity that provides guidance, technical assistance and administrative support to CREATE study teams in their education and training efforts at the ground level.  Our study areas are diverse and existing; thus we have staff in each of our sites to assist with
responsibilities of keeping training current and appropriate for our talented team members.
We also are responsible for the education processes of CREATE—this entails providing resources, facilitating flow of information between our home at Johns Hopkins University and in-country education
and training coordinators, as well as maintaining a forum in which each study can voice their education and training needs.

To keep the our health care professionals updated, ETC core also coordinates needs assessments and provides training opportunities for nominated staff at the Johns Hopkins University (School of Public Health, School of Medicine and School of Nursing).
On a continual basis education and training programs and materials are monitored by the manager of the core, and evaluated for appropriateness—and are often disseminated to
the various sites.

Included in this website section are various training opportunities.  Please take a few moments to review the  navigation bar to recognize the breadth and width of this educational section.  As of the fall of 2006, the ETC is  working on several comprehensive and exciting training modules, including (but not limited to) Good Clinical  Practice and a series of Bioethics Modules for teams that are in-country.

There are many facets to a successful training experience.  We hope this site affords you opportunities that will  enhance your knowledge base. Check this site often to keep up with our progress, and please feel free to  contact the core members for more information.
