Alison Grant. Ph.D

Dr. Grant initially trained as a physician, specializing in infectious and tropical diseases and HIV medicine, and subsequently as an epidemiologist with particular interests in care for HIV-infected people in developing countries.
Dr. Grant's research interest is mainly care for people with HIV in developing countries, particularly preventive interventions. She also supervises two Ph.D students working on adherence to antiretroviral therapy, and co-supervise another working on the effect of antiretroviral therapy on households.
She is an investigator on the DfID research program consortium "Evidence for Action" on HIV treatment and care in resource-limited settings. Dr. Grant did field work for her Ph.D. on the clinical epidemiology of HIV disease at "Projet RETRO-CI", Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, where she was also involved in a study of the effect of cotrimoxazole on morbidity and mortality among people with HIV.
