Desmont Tutu Centre at Stellenbosh University

The overall aim of the Desmond Tutu TB Centre at the Stellenbosch University is to facilitate collaboration between the many researchers involved in TB diseases.

Objectives:

Conduct relevant original basic and applied research, as well as to provide education and training to students and the community on all aspects relating to tuberculosis.

Facilitate the optimal growth and deployment of expertise and infrastructure in the University and the Faculty so that research, education and training in the field of tuberculosis can be practiced at the highest possible level.

Foster and facilitate appropriate collaboration between all possible role-players at every level of the community in the Western Cape, Southern Africa and abroad to combat tuberculosis.

Contribute significantly to the control of tuberculosis in Southern Africa, the African Continent and global communities through research, education and training.
